This web site exists to provide access to and a forum to discuss materials for the Vanderbilt University course Asian Studies 212: Explorations of Japanese Animation. Here you will find download links to the course readings designated in the syllabus as "ER"("Electronic Readings")
and to mp4 versions of the anime that we will view (and a few extras). Syllabus and handouts can also be found here, and you will participate in the online discussions in the Forum.
The mp4 files are not intended as substitutes to the regularly scheduled screenings on the Big Screen in Buttrick 103 on Tuesday evenings (and some Thursday evenings). However, if you absolutely cannot attend the screenings, this is how you can make it up (outside of renting the films yourself or viewing copies on reserve in the library). I intend for you to use these mp4 versions for review and reference on your own computers. Download sections of this website is password-protected, so remember the user name and password.
